The latest generation of Hewlett Packard Enterprise MSA Gen6 disk arrays has undoubtedly found its place in the field of small and medium enterprises. However, the common denominator are several new technologies in the hardware architecture that Gen6 offers, which move it significantly ahead of Gen5. Only the increase in performance expressed through IOPS speaks for itself – MSA Gen6 can read up to 325,000 IOPS, which is 45% more than the previous generation. This means in particular a better user experience and work efficiency. Let's also add the so-called "hands-free tiering", which automatically adapts tiering to current application requirements and changes without user intervention, resulting in better performance.
The new MSA Health Check functionality enhances the user experience. It is a cloud-based tool for finding potential problems, which, thanks to systematic and regular analysis of logs, eliminates up to 76% of cases when the user would have to use support, and thus reduces downtime. In addition, in the event of a problem or deviation from the "best practice", the user is suggested steps to optimally resolve the situation.
